Take the rear wheels off, those are just dead weight.

Along with the entire rear suspension. And while your at it take that motor out, it's just slowing you down.

for some cheap horsepower...

strip the interior of the car, remove all panels, all seats. get rid of the windows and replace with lexan. those windows are freakin' heavy.

get rid of the spare tire, jack, all that is dead weight. get rid of the hood...run a clear see-through lexan hood...thats like minus 60-80Lb right there. get rid of all seats and replace the driver seat with a water bucket.

i think if you did all that, should be as fast as a turbocharged sohc at 5psi. cuz thats about 400 lbs of dead weight gone. making the 96-98 coupe at 2000LB. a stock 96-98 coupe is approx. 2410LB give or take.

Nice write up. luckly he asked for free horsepower, not how to weight reduct. And i will race him with my single cam boost at 6.5 psi, and walk all over him.

Expand on this, remove all the doors, all the sheet metal, and just drive around on the subframe with the suspension and motor attached.

Woah, this threat upsets me.. and for once its not the noob that started the post.

this guys asking questions because he doesn't know, not because he WANTS to annoy you "geniuses" out there.
you people ask questions all the time although they might be more qualified for this site, but not everyone lives on here.

I enjoy this site to the fullest but with replies like those for people actually looking for help, it's rediculous.

Maybe there should be a noobie forum separated from the veterans of this site, im mean ****, its got restrictions on the noobs in certain forums, why not restrict people from posting in this one till they get more accuainted with the site?

aaaaaanywho,
There are ways to get a lil hp easily but its not free usually.
one would be-
Replace stock air box with aem or k&n filter, or ghetto rigg a coldair or shortram intake.

Im 4 months new to this forum. When registering, it is suggested you read the terms of service and the forum guidelines. Its very simple, (called reading/comprehending english) and takes just a few minutes of your time. When you first come on and start reading through the posts (what you would do if you actually wanted to learn something, and not just sign up to make posts about your CF lip or the new Lexan hood you just bought and couldnt wait to show it off to the internet), you would realize that people here are sensitive to reposts, and it would take you reading about 4 threads to realize this.

This being said, you cant get through more than 5-6 posts before realizing that the SEARCH ******* FUNCTION is a tremendous tool on this site and should not be overlooked.

Why we would coddle someone who obviously didnt read the rules/guidelines, and didnt comprehend that the SEARCH FUNCTION is your first avenue here for finding an answer, is beyond me.

For example, I needed to remove the TPS sensor off a stock throttle body yesterday. So what did I do? I go to the search function and type in "remove TPS" and clicked on archives. Came up with 4 posts, all suggesting that you take a dremel/hacksaw and cut a notch in the rivet head and unscrew it.

I could have taken the "omg hi2u eye just sined up on dis syte n n0w I kneed 2 kno howw 2 remuve mi TPS sensorrr frum my throdle boddi?" But instead I followed the course of action recommended by the forum guidelines and came up with my answer infinitely faster than if I had started a new thread and waited for a reply.

Hey the eeasyest way to make soem extra hp posibly is to take off the botom intake resonators in your bumper, then cut up the top box below the filter, make yopur own short ram with what you have.

- Portmatch your Intake Manifold to the head and the throttlebody to the intake manifold.

- Remove PS Belt
- Advance timing a little
- PVC Cold Air intake

Find a used turbo kit.

Best $900 I ever spent.

If that's too much for you, you're in the wrong hobby kid.

Running open header virtually always makes power.
