Strong Potent Burning Smell in Exhaust area....anyone know what it could be?
Ok so I've had my integra for about a month now and I noticed a faint burning smell the day I brought it home. Sometimes it smells a hell of a lot worse than others and it seems like its comming from the exhaust area because the engine smells completly normal. Well today, I just finished putting on a brand new catback exhaust system and the smell seems even worse. When I turn my car off, smoke seems to be comming out of the exhaust pretty readily. It doesnt smell like a burning oil smell. Rather more of a hot glue/fire smell. Anyone have any suggestions on locating the problem?
if its a new exhasut system w/ new gaskets, it would be the gaskets melting. its completely normal.
The wierd thing is, the smell was there before the exhaust system was put on and seems worse now that the new exhaust is on. And nothing is in my exhaust (ie. plastic, bags, ect...)
Is your cat dead? They can smell sometimes...And before I'm flamed, I'm not being a smartass and talking about a furry house pet!
