Default Big problem with VTEC...NEED HELP PLEASSEE

I searched and didn't find much of anything like my situation. A couple of days ago i went to put in my new Skunk 2 throttle body, but i saw that i had to grind off the screws on the MAP sensor, so i said **** that, i'm going to save that for another day. I had already disconnected the TPS sensor from the OEM throttle body. I put everything back to normal, putting the TPS sensor back on and pluging the MAP and TPS sensors in, started up the car..everything seemed fine. I let it warm up a little bit before i left where i was at. On the way home i went into VTEC in 1st gear, and i noticed it didnt kick in till around 6200rpms, then i tried second gear and 2nd was a little late too. I took it on the highway and went through every gear 3rd 4th and 5th are fine but 1st and 2nd lagged, and sometimes in 1st gear VTEC would not come in at all and it would kick back at around 7000rpms. Now VTEC won't kick in at all it's completely dead. So, could me taking off the TPS sensor have anything to do with this? I also noticed when i was under the hood yesterday, that there was an oil leak from my valve cover, not a serious one, but there was some oil on the back of the valve cover. I saw the problem and realized that the nuts on the back of the valve cover was loose, and a little oil would come out from time to time.
SO....what is my problem? is it the fact that i might be low on oil or is it something to do with the TPS. The oil i'm on has about 2,500 miles on it and its Royal Purple, which is suppose to last a little longer than other synthetics....please help me

Alright, well i went up to Pep Boys today and put a quart of oil in it, and everything seems to be fine again. The Skunk 2 Throttle Body is going in tomorrow. I'll keep you guys up to date with the results and i'll try to get some dyno's posted and ****.
