5th gen prelude chip
I hope so!!
BUT, my understanding is that the fuel map is not flash programmable and so NO CHIP FOR YOU!
If this is true it sucks! If I move out of California I will consider an ODBI conversion and Hondata. Untill then . . .

is there a chip for 5th gen preludes? if yes, what's the hp gain?
In order to reprogram it, you would have to replace the whole microcontroller with a custom designed unit with the new maps hard-wired in it.

there's a company called jetchips which can reprogram the ECU on 5th gens for about $300. you have to send the ecu to them and they'll send it back. they will reprogram the OBD II ecu, which i hear is illegal. it may also be the reason you don't see any advertisements for it. that's what i hear. dont' quote me on it. but
here's the site: http://www.jetchip.com/imports/
also i haven't heard of anyone doing this so i dont' know of its capabilities. you're supposed to be able to gain up to 11hp. you may want to check it out.

OK, I found out how the Hondata thing would work for a 97+ Prelude. Not sure how hard it would be, but it looks to be an option. That jet chip thing looks interesting to, but its not really adjustable once they program it.
