Default o2 sensor

other than checking by part numbers which are different, are 4th gen accord and 4th gen h22a o2 sensors the same in terms of signal they provide??? would using a 4th gen accord o2 sensor on the h22a be why it is running rich(i know it normally runs rich but its running richer than the normal rich)???

thanks

I was almost positive that most 4 wire honda/ acura o2 sensors are the same. the only difference is the wire length. I have a friend that works at honda an thinks the same thing. No idea why there is such a difference in price.

so you should not ahave a problem running an accord o2 sensor.

I have one question why do you think you are running rich? (flames/ airfuel meter/ smell) just wondering.

i am failing the HC part of smog, my o2 % is 0% so i am using all of the oxygen, but i am leaving unburnt fuel, even with lower octane(89) so it is definately running richer than it should be, all sensors are in place(iat, etc..) and i am not throwing any codes, so the only thing that could be making me run so rich is o2 i think, unless one of the IM runners is blocked and no air is getting through which i doubt....

My butterflies werent working for a while I used to throw nice flames out the exhaust between 1st and 2nd and 3rd shifting. I didnt have a cat in. but I did have a resonator and muffler. check to see if your butterflies move if you rev it up from under your hood.

not saying its your answer I just know that my car liked running rich and throw flames when my butterflies werent working.

well right now i dont really care about it running rich past 3000rpms, im trying to get smog taken care of which is only 15/25mph and <2000rpms...so butterflies wouldnt matter at that low of speed
