Just like the title states. Looking for the best gains in power and speed without the high cost. No nitrous either fellows. Thanks!

Just cheap. Not junk or anything. I'm not looking for an engine swap. This is a real newb question, and I apologize. I'm looking for new ideas from a variety of people. So actually, give ANY suggestions you would like and I'll go from there. Thanks.

It means you cant have all 3. You could make a fast car for real cheap but how reliable would it be? You could have a really reliable and fast car but how cheap would it be (it wont)? Get it?

Anyway cheapest thing to do is Nitrous, 200 bucks and you could get a 50-75 shot and pass alot of people.

turbo, or forced induction. You can pick up used JRSC kits all day long for cheap, but the trick is n the tweak.

State a budget, that's the first thing you do. A budget will help you wake up and smell the coffee faster. Without one, you could be making a **** load of wishful thinking and not getting anything done other than a bunch of 3rd degree burns from H-T tough E-thugs.

You need to stick with a story. Your first one wants cheap.

Your second one wants reliable and fast.

You only get two of those buddy.

i can tell you from experience, you aren't going to make a 98' ex extremely fast without a. engine swap, b. turbo. bolt ons are a total waste of money and probably do more harm than good. if you are going to stay pretty stock, i would focus on suspension, specifically the integra type-r sway bar, better tires, etc. the ex can be a very fun car to drive, especially in the corners, but don't waste your time with AEM, DC, or any of that bullshit. spend your money on pot, get high and drive, you'll feel like you have a turbo!

Not trying to sound like an a$$ but maybe you should just trade in for something quicker than what you have. If you wanna stick with your car, I suggest you research ALOT before trying to figure out what you want to do because otherwise your gonna do more harm than good to your engine and possibly blow it up. Search "engine swaps", "civic upgrades" or buy one of those Honda Performance books and get to reading. There is no easy, cheap or quick way to make your car fast and reliable. Good luck

Thanks everyone. I couldn't reply because of this trial user crap (5 posts a day). Anyway, I want cheap and fast; however, it isn't reliable then what's the point? I'd rather spend the extra couple bucks and make it more reliable. I would like to turbo my d-series. I looked up uberdata and can't find it online. Link? Thanks. I'm not a genius with my Honda by any means so I DO apologize for being so newb. I'm still young, but I want to learn and get more involved in tweaking my own ride. I thought about an older hatch, but the money I'd spend on another car then engine or turbo it's a waste. When you say reliable when going cheap and fast. How UNreliable is it? A fast car is nice, but the Honda without problems is better. Anymore suggestions? Oh yea, I went to the Home Made Turbo and the side menu doesn't seem to work. It just refreshes the home page? Any ideas? Thanks again for your input!

Don't listen to these people that say you can't be cheap, fast, and reliable... that's a bunch of bullshit. Building your own custom turbo kit can make youe car pretty fast and it can be very cheap. It's only as reliable as the person putting it all together... do it right and it will be reliable.

Check out the forums on homemadeturbo for info. Since your a noob you defintely need to keep reading forums until you get somewhat of an idea of what you want. A lot of the questions you have will be answered by searching and reading and you will learn more than just what your looking for along the way. So asking a bunch of basic questions now is kinda pointless, you need to knwo a little bit at least so you know what questions to ask.

Type in uberdata in google... it's the first link that comes up.
