would the stock fuel pump in a 2000 civic dx supply enouph of the go-juice to a 97 gsr with skunk2 intake manifold? if not what are some good ways to make sure i am not starving the motor?thanks in advance...

i myself have a 94 civic ex with stock fuel pump and a 94 gs-r swap. everything runs fine with no fuel problem whatsoever..you will be fine with the stock pump.

 

well, your 94 EX was a vtec motor prior to the swap, mine was not. in fact the 2000 dx is such an econo-box i am starting to wonder if the fuel pressure is lacking in certain areas. what should the fuel pressure be so that i can make sure that i am not starving my gsr.

maybe somone with the actual FACTS could respond. this is a TECH-website
not an OPINION forum. maybe somone could let me know the correct pressure that the GSR is supposed to have so that i can PROVE that my fuel pressure is not a problem. thank you.

What is important to note is that this pump (and most others) has an internal bypass valve that opens at 75 psi.

So from this graph, Hondas running the stock pump, and a rising rate regulator top out at 75 psi and about 200hp. So, this is not a good solution.

But, if you run your stock fuel pressure (say 40 psi) and this stock fuel pump, 650cc injectors will easily provide you fuelling for low 300 wheel HP. Honda computers will easily idle a 1600cc engine on 720cc injectors.</TD></TR></TABLE>
