I have a 88 CRX that I plan on turboin. My only problem is tuning! Ive never tuned and I dont know much about it. Can anyone help me find sumthing that is user friendly or where I can get a inexpensive set it and forget it set up!
Parts I have:
1 gen DSM turbo (14b?)
BMC Race log manifold (on order)
DSM 450 injectors
ZC tranny
PG-7 ECU
90 LS resister box
My main concern is the tuning. I know a guy that jus slap sum **** together and boosted to 14 psi and the car runs great but hes running a fmu on stock injectors on mini-me non vtec. no vafc no stand alone non of that ****! everything Ive read and heard says its not that easy whats the ****** deal? and when i say its just slaped together its just that!!!!!!!!! Now I plan on usin a mini-me as well or I could always do the zc rod and piston trick in a sohc 1.6 with a block guard. I still need FMIC, pipes, IM, tb, cluth & fly, and a mini-spool kit. What about a wideband O2 or a missin link? which is better or will work better? Or should I get the check valves in line with the MAP sensor? OH YEA MONEY IS TIGHT!!!!!

if you have an OBD 0 setup look into Turboedit
if you have an OBD 1 setup look into Uberdata or Crome
Sorry, I dont know what OBD a PG7 ECU is, but I'm guessing it's OBD 0. If you find somebody in your local area that can tune your car using Turboedit, then you're set. You just have to get your ECU "chipped" or "socketed" as some people call it. Then find a person that can tune your car using TE, UD or Crome, and they make a custom program for you and copy it or "burn" it to a little cumputer chip that you plug into your ECU. Do a search for Turboedit (or Uberdata/Crome if you are OBD 1) to get some info on it. Or you can go to http://www.pgmfi.org to get info on all of those.
EDIT: also, check out the Keebler link in my sig, to see what all is involved wit chipping an ECU. Also if you look on http://www.pgmfi.org you can find a list of people in your local area that can tune turboedit, uberdata or crome.
