Need help finding complimentary parts for my ep3
eWith having a wife, kid, mortgage and those pesty monthly bills from American Honda Financing I cant go out and spend the money I would like right away on my ep3. I have to plan well in advance and when I buy one part I like to relatively certain it will work with the other things I want to add down the line. For example, I have been doing homework for a while to come to my decision about which coilover setup and tires to get once it warms up.
Now I am starting to think about making a little more power. When its all said and done I would like to have the Jackson Race SC, with i/h (or race header)/ exhaust/Hondata, but I am not sure which i/h/e will work best together or if it really makes any difference. I will probably go with the intake first, then the header and exhaust and then the software. The SC will have to waite until this time next year probably, I have to do this in small increments to keep the wife happy.
So I guess I am looking for other people running this kind of setup on their DD. I am wondering what works well together, gives the fewest problems and is the biggest bang for the buck. I was also wondering about race header vs header and high flow cat for a DD. Being in Kentucky I dont know anyone with the race header so I am not sure if if would be really loud to be in everyday.
Let me say I appreciate any help that is offered and I have been researching individual parts, but would like to hear about what works when they are all on the same car.
Thanks

for best gains, use a cai and a race header in conjunction with the supercharger. since it is your daily driver, legality is an issue with running a race header, as it replaces the cat with a test pipe. if this is not a problem in kentucky, go for it, as long as you have a quiet b pipe and muffler(ie stock), it shouldnt be very noisy. hope this helps

Kentucky still has no kind of emission checking of any kind, in fact Kentucky was the last state to make folks register their cars. The supercharger will be a long time in coming, but that is were I want to end up. I know I want the intake and a header, but I would some suggestions on what types of these parts work well together. Also wondering about your idea of using the oe exhaust. I have heard its a pretty good system, would it work pretty well with a race header or aftermarket header with a high flow cat?

dont know too much about hte ep3, as i have a base rsx, but i assume your stock piping is smaller than a type s rsx, so i would at least go with a type s catback, or even type r catback. personally, i was going for the same setup until recently on my base rsx, and i had a aem cai, jackson racing race header, type s bpipe, and spoon n1 muffler(but that would be loud). so i would recommend the same setup for you(but with a type s or r catback), and then you can get the jrsc when you are ready. however, if you are not worried about noise, go with a decent diameter aftermarket catback.
