I tried searching but I couldnt find the answer. You see I have a first gen JDM b16a. Its going into a EK hatch of mine. I was wondering if it would be as fast as a b16a2 00 Civic Si with the same mods? I never really knew the diff between all the b16 motor generations. Im pretty sure they both are pushing out 160. Yes? Maybe someone can chime in and explain? Thanks.

 

All USDM B16A's have 160hp. The first gen JDM B16A has 160hp so basically what you do to one will affect the other in an identical manner.

 

ones cable tranny, other hydro(can be cable also)
ones obd0, the other obd1

thats it tho, nothing huge

 

if it got's a big dohc in dohc vtec on the valve cover it's 160 hp. if it's got a big vtec in dohc vtec an the cover it's 170 hp. the jdm one has 10.4-1 c/r and usdm is 10.2-1 c/r. also i may be wrong but the jdm tranny has a smaller gear ratio.

 

I'm pretty sure USDM B16's have the VTEC as the bigger word on the valve cover... Mine does.
