Default can bad ball joints cause slight clicking when turning??

i just replaced both side rebuilt axles from autozone, and they are clicking slighty when you turn in either direction. Could it be just bad rebuilt axle, or could bad balljoints also cause the clicking. Most of the balljoints have ripped boots.. but even still, i dont think they could be the cause of the clicking.. can they?

I doubt it. On my car the boots were open, the one joint was shot, but nary a sound..
With open boots , your joints could well be shot as well.
The Autozone units are cheap, probably the CVs are worn enough to click.
