h23a 220hp?,h22
I can't decide whats better a h22 or a h23a. My h23 in my 92prelude is about to die, its got over 300,000 on it. I want to put a relatively new engine in. Nippon-motors.com told me that they have a h23a with 220hp for 1,950 dollars. Do you think it has that much horsepower?
They are talking about the h23a that comes in the Euro accord wagon which is automatic. You would need a 5spd tranny. If you live in the states you cannot get it bar approved.
You also cannot buy any h23a specific parts for it at the local honda dealer.
For $1950 thats how much a regular h22 costs, i doubt thats the h23a euro motor.

are u guys nuts...h22 over the h23a vtec. if u were to get a new engine i would get it...me personally i would just build one, but if your to buy a stock one this is it.
its got the h23 stroke, but but w/55 mm mains and better balanced, oil squirters, vtec head from the factory ready to spin the high rpms, w/better tq.
now if u had a h22 this is not worth it imo...the crank in them is the jewel
