Default cusco cage?

Seems like I've seen this somewhere before.....

I suppose the rr/ax guys would have a field day tearing this thing up saying why it sucks, etc, but I'd like to get some clear pics of it and understand.....

Of course it is blinging cusco blue.....

Not to mention all the bends in the design which are a definite "no no".

the autopower bolt-in rollbars are highly accepted here on the board though? would you care to expand on the part about the cusco cage or rollbar not being welded to anything?
to the orginial poster: many say the bends are definitely a negative aspect of the cusco cages and rollbars because there comes many weak points with those type of bends.

Might wanna warn your friend of potential injury or death, and tell him to at least attach the harnesses correctly.

Better yet ditch all that till he gets it set up correctly. Looks like show cars can be pretty dangerous.

Ken, there already was a lengthy writup in the RRAX forum about this stylin JDM jungle gym hazard awhile ago:

Well looky there I found one, https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=446795

Yep. Just prepare for what you can.

My next track car will have a custom built welded cage in it - and yes I will drive it on the street.

Edit: Ken, that 'cage' (more like JDM jungle gym) sucks ***. I can go into further detail next time we get together, I dont care to hash it out here - been there, done that and its clear I wont change anyone's mine who is dead set on it because it is "blue bling" (not talking about you).

There's no diagonal bar on the main hoop, that's a big no-no too.

.....that other thread pretty much sums it up.

My concern is weight and chassis stiffening..... and of course any bar that'll prevent rear passengers gets a from me.

Looks like Kirk and Autopower are going to be the top dogs for a 4pt.

Are there any other 4pt bars that bolt in unobtrusively? I like bars that retain the factory interior lines and don't draw unwanted attention.....

**** it: RJ gimme that bar!

I really wish there were a bar that had the hoop similar to autopower, but bolted to the rear shock towers somehow while still retaining the factory plastic panels.....

Its coming out next week

My panels are still in with functioning (yet slightly relocated) rear speakers - what more do you want?

'Joes Type S' here on H-T sells a VERY nice 4-point bolt in bar - better than autopower, IMHO - the only drawback is that you will need to remove or trim the rear panels to fit them back in. Would be easy to get a set of spare panels to cut up and keep your originals in the garage

I found Joe's thread:

It looks very similar to the bar you have.....

Just being optimistic

Don't drive like a jackass, obey speed limits, and be very observent of others driving around you and you'd be amazed at the fact that you would probably never be in an accident.

Oh, and i've never been in an accident, my mom's been in 2 or 3, broken leg and ankle from them, and i think they've all been her fault, she's not the best driver....my dad's been in one i think, but that was a mexican's fault who ran a redlight.

You're an idiot.

Why do you think they're called "accidents"?

See my sig.
