90 built accord, needs to rev past 6500rpm with a PJ0 pleez heelp
Hello,
I have been chipping and working with pm6's for a couple years now. I have recently stumbled across a buddy of mine who has some problems of his own. He has a 90 accord with the sohc non-vtec controlled with a PJ0. I have done google searches, searched on HT, even went to PGMFI.org. Not much luck so far. Is there anyway I can raise the rev limiter on it with out going to college for an electrical engineering degree??

Keep in mind my buddies 84 crx carbureted is pulling on this accord, that is as soon as it hits 6500 of course.
buy an apex'i speed/rev limit remover
about the same price as a afc

Will that give it fuel past 6500?? I would like to stick with the stock computer if anybody has hacked this?
Why do you want to rev past 6500 on a non-vtec car.
Unless its got a weird curve the F22a1/4/6 makes all its power around 4500-4800, reving past it won't do jack.
I'm pretty sure the PT6 ecu doesn't have a rev limiter, I know it doesn't have a speed limiter.
What's the PJ0 out of, I've never heard of that ecu.

There is no need to rev past 6500 with a non vtec f22 unless you have destroked it or have a cam that requires it to be raised. I would have to say that an f22 like you have probably does not even make power past 6500. take it to a dyno if you don't believe me.

OK so I am mistaken it is an older 88 accord 2.0 FI I believe.
Well for starters its not mine. Secondly, all I know is he builds race cars(primarily v8's and carbs) for a living and this is what he needed from me. Yes the motor is built, to what extent I couldn't tell you. Ill try to get some info within the week.
I was looking at the way the components are wired to the ecu. By the way it is from a 86-89(???) accord fuel injected/vacuum advance. The distributor wires look mighty close the still unhacked pm5. And everything I have read so far is basically asking the question "why even bother?"(with the pj0)
Still wondering about the apexi "hack" with the rev limit cut. (Fueling past stock fuel cut.)
Would the newer pt3 engine components bolt up to the older accord motor? It looks like if I can modify somehow the distributor/TPS/IACV etc... to fit on the motor I could wire up a pm6 and further the tuning process.
Any help or advice would be much appreciated
