Default setup question?

alright guys i hate to ask this question but its been driving me crazy for almost 2 months now .

I can get a turbo kit for my car for 1800 installed brand new or cheaper if i do it myself . I dont know the brand its a 92 to 95 civic kit with a t/4 intercooler and usaull stuff , dsm 450 injectors .

or for a little cheaper or the same price can get b16 head ,goldeneagle kit ecu ...

Now whats really bothering me is i would like to have a turbo but it would take about all my money and i dont feel i will be able to get the best parts to go with it to keep it reliable . because with my budget i cant really afford to blow a motor .

I do like the idea of having a ls/vtec also . I think it would be a little more reliable and cheaper , but just not as much power withpout alot more work .

I have two vehicles so this wouldnt be a daily driver , just crusing around town on nice days and dragstrip twice or so a month

With how my money is i could probably get more parts with the ls/vtec to make it more reliable but would a good be that risky for me . id be tuning with turbo edit seen some good number with that . I cant really afford hondata s200 , probably running 5 to 7 pounds of boost . So if anyone can share there turbo ls/vtec experience it would help like how long youve been driving it how hard u push it or how long it lasted

oh and ill mention with before someone else does i could do ls/vtec now and turbo later but i wanted to go with higher compression pistons i i do go ls/vtec like p30's i dont think i could turbo then correct me if im wrong . thanks

you sound really confused as to what you want....Honestly don't just go throw your money into it. RESEARCH....if you want ls/vtec, then you are going to have do the research and understand it's a very mean setup, but you are going to have some rough times if you don't get all your background on it straight. The turbo sounds like to me what you want the most...but just remember the little odds and ends that come with F/I...you gotta buy all the management stuff to make sure you don't go down the road of , "KABOOM" and no mas motor. and the b16a head and the chipped ecu sound like the least on your list....

IMOP i say go with turbo, but research and scoure the internet for better prices....and then again there's always DIYturbo...But just remember F/I is the next level and lots of questions come up...I say you sit down with your cash and think out what it is you really want from your car...and then go ahead and make the decision....
but if it was me, i'd ration that **** to get a nice turbo setup going...
