how much did your turbo setup cost you
I'm curious how much people have spent on boost so i figured i would just ask. We all know roughly how much a turbo kit cost, but thats not what i wanna know. What i want to know is how much you've spent on your entire setup. Everything included. Fuel system, clutch, gauges, fuel management, engine work ect. Also what your setup consists of and how much power your putting down. I think this would be helpful for people considering boosting so they can get an idea of a total investment for a boosted application.
Thanks
Thanks
351.18whp right now.....just need sleeves and a block girdle before the big power. So far....I think its roughly 16,700+ just in the engine.

Don't have a turbo car... YET! Urr.. ummm... Yeah a friend of mine spent about $11,000+ just on the motor. It all depends on how deep your pockets are. Or rather how big your credit limit is.

I just finished my turbo setup and spent $1800 with engine management. and add $350 for the ACT clutch and flywheel that I got 2 years ago if you want.
93 civic CX
B18b swap Stock internals
BMC Log Manifold
Turbonetics T3/T4 50 trim .48 A/R
Tial 38mm Wastegate
Turbo XS RFL BOV (ricer)
Johnny racer IC
Zeitronix wideband with display
Uberdata (FREEBIE)
uhhhh other odd and end piping etc.
I planned on spending $1400 but went over ohh well I love what I got and I'm still tuning. (Just got it done 2 days ago.)

My bad man....I opened the excel file but forgot it was for "just the engine" Last time it was 22,000 for everything, but now its up to about 25,000. As for the engine.....it roughly has 16,700+ into it. Sorry for the mistake (I fixed the previous post for ya too).

I still cant see 16k in just the engine, a Fully built shotblock(sleeves, rods and pistons, blueprinted and balanced) is about $3000 depending on rods and pistons used, then for the head, even if you got a 5 angle valve job, port and polish, cam gears, springs, retainers, valves and turbo cams I cant see that engine costing more than $5k. or did u mean, all that plus turbo, injectors clutch axles etc etc
if you look at his parts list on his cardomain page. it does not even come close to 16k.
either this dude is full of ****, or retarded..

Thats everything so far: cams, new (built) head, rods/pistons, injectors, hondata (the engine needs to be able to run), and I also included labor, blah blah blah. A pile of parts are useless unless there is labor to put them on
It'd be just as easy to figure out how much just in "mechanical" parts I have spent since it's all in an Excel file....If you exclude injectors, manifolds, throttle bodies, turbos, then I guess you could say that all I have spent is about 3,100 just on the head and the block (for parts).

Whenever I have the time to go through my receipts...I will let you know..LOL Taking a wild guess...hhhhhmmmm...more than $8k including miscellaneous parts/materials. As in horsepower, my old setup made 331hp~291tq. By the end of the month, I should be getting better results since its re-dynoing time!!!
i have about 1400 in my kit on my y7
t3 60trim
johnnyracecar 5" intercooler
2.25 mandrel bent charge pipes.
SAFC
2g dsm 450 injectors
bmc log manifold
1g dsm blow off valve
2.5" downpipe
and a lot of other little stuff that adds up in cost.
it runs great at 11psi
.. im gonna do a 5 speed swap soon and do the obd1 conversion so i can run uberdata.. so thats another 1000 for the tranny swap parts..
