Default loose tie rod..alignment question

I've been having vibration in the steering wheel and through the car when I acclerate up hills...independent of vehicle speed. just dependent on engine rpm speed.

The car does not pull left or right.

The vibration is getting worse, like a knocking almost when it's around 3k-5k rpm.

I pulled the driver's side wheel off(the half shaft was replaced a year ago) and the alxe seemed fine.

But, the tie rod had about 1/8 of an inch of play in it. should there be play in it? my passenger side was firm, NO play.

could this be the problem with the vibration?

I haven't had the car aligned in years, and it's prett dumped with a camber kit.

any help would be appreciated!

yeah, it won't effect your static toe just sitting there, but while you drive and the suspension is taking its loads, your toe will deffinaelty vary quite a bit AND cause a shaking- allowing the wheel to toe in and out....

New outer tie rods and an allignment will tighten up your steering feel....your vibrations could very well be coming from somewhere else....inner tie rods, wheel bearings, axles, int shaft bearing, etc.

ok, quick update....

with the car sitting on the ground, i can pull on the drivers side wheel with my hands (like left to right) and in moves just a little, not much. and the passenger side doesn't move.

inner tie rod or outer? The joint on the outer looks fine....

it made a knocking sound when I turned...not all the time. i'm pretty sure the tie rod is bad, even though the joint looks ok without removing it.

anyone pay a shop to replace em? I know the part is cheap. it looks pretty easy in my haynes manual, i'll prolly just do it myself.

thunking is getting worse...rotors are fine. where's all the honda-tech guru's?

steering wheel doesn't seem to have any place in it which would point to a tie rod.

over bumps it doesn't do the constant thunk-thunk -thunk thunk, just when there is torque. let off the gas, and it goes away. i can coast at any speed, and it will NOT do it. makes me think it's not the tie rod.
