getting 404's for the Ls
okay, i was wondering im planning on getting crower 404's for my ls in the next few weeks and im planning on getting the head a 3 angle valve job and new seal, but i was can't figure i i sould get some flat valves or mill the head to bump the compression And the crank pressure up...(BTW how much should i mill to not throw the timing alignment of by much?)
P.S.the head is gonna be accompanied by a lsd b16 tranny, clutch masters stg 2 clutch, lightened FW, ge or str cam gears and tuned by a safc.
...also since we have only a 1/8th mi. track here im shooting for my times to be in the 8's
ALSO:i read in a earlier post that some ppl use prelude spark plug wires cuz thier bigger is this true and how does it wrk?

I would only mill the head to clean it up for a good mate to the block, not to add a lot of compression.
If you want the high compression, go with B16 (or any higher compression) pistons. You should ideally rebuild the block with ARP rod bolts and possibly balance the internals. I had 404's- I loved the power BUT 3 months down the road I spun a rod bearing. The stock bolts stretched from the extra RPM the cams allow and caused general mayhem in the block. If you are going to go for these cams, you need to be prepared to build for reliability. If not, you'll be in the same boat I was.
Now Im running a B16 with ARP's and stock red-line. Im hoping that it will last forever....
As far as tuning, you can get a hondata s100 for the price of a new SAFC. Obviously, that would be the way to go.
Good luck.
