nitrous, with a $1000 limit you could get a real nice N.O.S. setup!
oh, i figured he already had i/h/e, since he said "other than i/h/e."
but, if not then......
what ever you want to get its your car.
id say a hondata setup.
go ahead and get that out of the way.

Since $1k sadly doesn't go far in terms of horsepower (it could get you off-brand I/H/E for a puny power gain)...
1) You could get nice shocks and springs. If you do the labor yourself you could throw a bushing kit in there too, but most bushings require a hydraulic press.
2) An alarm and a nice stereo. I'd recommend a high-voltage output CD player, a 4-channel amp, 6½ components up front, and 6x9s in the rear, but that would be over-budget I think.

Personally, if I was going to do it all over agin with a stock car, I would take the $1000 and save it for a swap.
If not, I would spend the $1000 on a new suspension. Struts, springs, rear sway bar, and bushings. If I could find good enough deals on this, I would try to squeeze in a nice set of tires.

You could get an LSD then. If you ever did a motor swap the LSD could also go into to Prelude tranny.
Give the money to me and I'll get an LSD. Thank you drive through.

to be honest with you man, do not spend the money. If you do not know what you want then you will not be happy with something we tell you to buy. You will find something in due time but let the money sit in a savings account fro now.
