got a valve spring compressor?
Anyone in Va got a valve spring compressor i can borrow? Or any ideas on how to replace valve springs without one would be nice. Also when replacing the retainers, can i reuse the keepers?

Yeah i know about that route. I just didn't want to pay. probably not going to use the spring compressor again. Hmmmmm maybe a business can rent it to me.

eah go ahead and send it to me.

I can hardly get that item from my blood relative.... I think he may be a bit reluctant to send it from AZ...

Autozone will "rent" a spring compressor to me. 20 bucks and i get the money back if i return it. So basically they are loaning it to me. I hope the compressor is good.
its probably the c-clamp type.
they dont work all that well with dohc vtec heads.
you'll spend a lot of time cursing and changing angles to get them out

Hahahahaha
Dude ont even waste the gas money going to Autozone
Trust me..what they have WILL NOT work..its a standard compressor made for heads with LOTS of room (domestic)..I tried toe tool before and had no luck whatso ever, youll get more frustrated then anything.

This is what Autozone offers:

It does not fit.
The C-Clamp style will work, but its a pain in the ***, and Ive scratched the head up pretty well in the past using one. The angle sucks..and when you get the retainers on and pull the tool off, it tends to not keep everything lined up and the retainers pop out. MAJOR PAIN IN THE ***!
