Default need tech help

i have a set of h beam rods with arp bolts for my ls buildup....problem is its takin me a couple years to get around to building it up....well the rods have sat for so long they have started to rust....my question is can i just wire brush the rust off and all will be well? polish the rust out? im lost as to ive never had rods rust?

WD-40 is your friend. Just don't use anything thats going to scratch the rod. You can use emery clotch on the rod journals of those are rusted.

very good advice i buy wd40 by the gallon and i use it on any and every thing

the rust is very light on the surface...i think im gonna try and have a shop micropolish them...

Try some WD-40. That stuff works wonders

i tried wd-40 and a polishing wheel on my dremel....that rust is there to stay im guessing

anyone else have any ideas for rust removal on rods? just take them to a machiene shop?
