Clean the floor real good.
Lay .4 mil plastic on the whole floor and tape it down.
Use .1 mil plastic on the walls and ceiling. Staple them if you have too.
Open the garage door and put a box fan in the doors way. Close the door to rest on top of the fan.
Plastic off around the rest of the opening that the garage door makes.
Put an air conditioning filter (like from a house) in front of the box fan.

Cleanliness, circulation, and a filter so the neighbors don't have a fit.

Yeah make sure you keep other vehicles away from the direction of your overspray. Cleaning off overspray is never fun.

If you are going to be doing something small, just do a corner of the garage floor in plastic, then staple .1mil plastic to the top of the walls and drape it over where it meets the floor plastic. I would still put a fan in the garage door though. It will help take the dust out of the air and it might make you less high from the fumes.

Even if the garage walls are filled up, staple the plastic to the ceiling to cover all the **** on the walls, or something inside. I really doubt you want to paint out side. Wind, dirt, dust, all bad.

Yes build a booth. Use poly for ceiling and walls. The static in the poly sheets will attract dust and some overspray. Of course you should wet the floor. THis will prevent you from kicking dust around. When i sprayed my HD shovelhead bike, i built a booth about 10 X 10 using plastic and some scrap 2 X 4. Remember to get yourself a good respirator and some way of getting the fumes out of that booth.

Now the problem with painting a bike frame is that your target surface is quite small (about 1-2 inches). So this causes you to 1. waste alot of paint, and 2. when spraying, you will get overspray on the previously painted frame areas.

I would suggest using a detail gun instead. Smaller spray area, less waste, more control.

You can go to a automotive parts store, harbor freight, home depot, etc..
