motor mount torn... the one on the subframe
its a 95 accord. Its the torque mount thats' on the subframe, right by the exhaust manifold. Since I'm doing the swap for a friend, and i know he doesnt have money to buy another mount, i just installed it anyways with it torn.
My question is, what is the consequence of having that mount the way it is. It is still somewhat functioning since when the engine torques too much, it will still resist. I know on my civic, the torque mounts for the lower tranny mount and PS mounts are always torn in n e cars i see, how is it for an accord? thanks

He'll want to get that changed as soon as he can. If tha mount completey tears out the front of the engine will have no support and may just fall.
I bought an h22 with a torn torque mount... The engine will not fall out because there are still three other mounts holding it into place. From a performance aspect, it will reduce the power to the wheels because the torque mount helps prevent wheel hop. The other thing to look out for is if you are hopping your wheels all the time, the driveshafts are more likely to break on you. I was driving around for months without a good one in my car, so it doesn't need to be replaced immediately, but I would put it on the list of things to do in the near future.
it's on a completely stock car.. not being modded at all. The guy drives like a grandma. I was just wondering is there n e consequences of not replacing that mount other than loss of power to the wheels which I don't really care about.
I'm thinking more like wearing out the 3 other mounts faster without that. thanks

lol i have a turboed h22 in my accord and only ran 3 mounts(didn't have the front torque mount) and i pulled my motor out a few months ago to find the drivers side mount was completely torn out of it. so i was running with 2 of 4 mounts and my motor didn't fall out, it just had really bad flex.
