Currently I am running the cheap POS Kamikazi header and I am sick of changing out the feeakint gasket everymonth. Plus it looks like its going to rust through now that th nickel coating is wearing off.

What other headers are u guys running?

I ran a dc jdm 4-1 on my setup when I had it. It seemed to work well. I primarily had it b/c of it's 2.5" collector and ease of use compared to all the issues I'd read from the kami. HTH.

 

I had the same problem with the paper gasket, so I bought a metal one and that took care of the problem.

 

when i was all motor, i had the same header and it would eat gaskets like a mother ******

I'm also using a DC 4-1. But I thought the collector was 2.25? I remember measuring it a while back.

 

i am running the metal gaskets with my kamikazi but it still wants to eat them after a month. I torque them down to the same torque and it still ends up leaking after a month. maybe I should just get someone to make me a one piece similar to the kamikazi but with a 3" collector and be done with it

my buddy is HT biggest lurker and he decided to go with this manifold for his JRSC setup.

 

I am using the Kamikaze header and I never had a problem with the gasket eating itself away. I've had the Kami header for over 2 years now with-out leaks. I am using a copper colored metal gasket that JR sold to me and it works like a charm...

 

I never had a problem with my Kamikaze with gaskets, but if I wanted a high end SC header I'd either get one from Lovefab or LHT Performance.

 

I was looking to spend 500 or so on a header, but that LHT looks pretty good. Does anyone here run one of those puppies?

 

Other people on HostBoard have found that the Kami header works better for a 1/3 of the price.

my kamikaze header i had on my prelude was a POS. i would kill a metal gasket after 1 or 2 months. I got it to hold for 6 months once, buy buying some grade 8 bolts with lock washers and that managed to hold for a little bit.

I think the kamikaze may be ok for performance, but really, there has to be a better option. Have you seen the collector design, its awful.

 

So far my Kami header has held for over 2 years. Maybe someday if I find dyno proof that another header outperforms the Kamikaze and is somewhat closely priced, I'll consider it.

But until that day, I'm still rocking my Endyn/Kami header....

 

I think mine cracked right at the 22 month mark.

 

We no longer sell our supercharger header, It was not profitable enough for us to build one at a time ( the collector was $379 alone ) and couldn't find a company to mass produce them for us.

The biggest problems with the Kamakazi are :

The paper gasket blows out after been heated then shrinks and the bolts come loose.

* Replace with copper gasket and grade 8 bolts

They crack because of no bracing and the entire exhaust pulling on the whole thing .

* brace the header in the factory postion.

When ordering the header ask for the Titainuim coating, it holds up much better.

Fix the above problems and you can't go wrong, port match the flange a little better and you've got a good header for the $$$$.
