Spring Compressor?
Does anyone know where to purchase a spring compressor comprable to the one shown in the helms manual? I have the three hook type right now, but that is very time consuming, and clumsy. I do a large number of springs/shocks so I need to increase efficiency in doing so. Any info, plus an approx. cost. Thanks.
you don't need a spring compressor u just need an air gun and a wall that will work cause all you need the compressor for is to take off the stock springs you don't need oit for putting new lowering springs on cause they are lower than sock springs
how exactly do you plan to use and impact gun to take the spring out the only way you can take it out is by loosing that top nut while the springs still in the car if you want a good spring compressor I would recommend snapon, mac or matco all good tool companys im sure they have some good ones.
No they do not carry it. And try taking out some prelude springs and letting 'em rip, no thanks!!!!

here's the safest way to do it...no spring compressor needed. I hate spring compressors, they scare me
with the car on the ground....take off the main bolt on the stut assembly....the weight of the car holds the force of the sprng...then one the car is slowly jacked up...the tension is slowly released from the spring
simple

hmmm...never thought of that...but thats a damn good idea...thanks
...i do a lot of lowering for other buddies and i thought the best way to do it with out spring compressors is to go out the front lawn and step on the shock/spring and just undo it from there...the soil and grass actually bite into the the coils preventing a lot of the movement...the nut never goes more than a couple of feet...
...just have everyone stay clear of the ends to be safe...
