looking for some help from some ls swap guys
Hello, my girlfriend and myself picked up a teal 90 crx last night with an LS swap. The car has a custom cat back and ACT clutch in it and we're looking to get rid of both. The guy we bought the car from piled alot of money into it and he was a super great guy to buy a car from; he had receipts on everything and was really polite. I was going to haggle him on the price but it was so low and he was so nice that I felt bad even considering it. The girlfriend isn't in to cars too much, only a very slight interest, but I think this car will change that. We were looking at 240s (i've got a 97 240) to possibly get her one of those, but I got curious about an ls crx for sale so i called the guy to look at it, and its awesome. so I'm a very intelligent guy in the automotive community but I'm very rusty on honda knowledge. if anyone has any tips on things to do and not to do for a girls car, especially a very passive and quiet girl who isn't into crazy things, let us know. We'll both probably be using this name (if i can get her too, lol). ive done searches on the exhaust issue and we're considering the hks sport, but im worried about application. the exhaust only shows up as a civic ef exhaust on the hksusa site, and not as a crx exhaust. and according to searches they arent swappable without a moderate amount of modifcation. so any recommendations on a stock sounding (hell, we might just go back to stock pee shooter exhaust all together) exhaust would be helpful and much appreciated. thanks for everyones time.
I have a b16a with 2 1/4" piping, a resonator, and a turbo muffler and it sounds just a wee bit deeper than stock. Just about any muffler shop can make your exhaust system but if you want stainless you might have a harder time finding a shop. Mandrel bends on all piping is also the preferred..mines not and I dont notice the .5 hp loss.
The hp of your engine will pretty much determine the size of the pipes here's a good, but lentghy thread: http://www.automotivehelper.com/topic13199.htm
If you scroll down about 3/4 a person named eckoman_pdx writes about his LS.

That would be my suggestion. Use a resonator and a nice muffler and the sound should be good. As for the clutch why are you removing it? Is it too harsh for your liking or your gf's liking?

both. the motor is a stock motor that wont see much abuse, and when it does it will be from me (and she will be the primary driver). so having a hard clutch in a car that doesnt need it is useless and a waste of leg energy, so id rather get rid of it for a more comfortable clutch for her.
