Re: whats a better swap for a crx a mini me or ls (lrcrx90)
Im gona say mini me because its cheaper and easier to do. Good boost in horsepower too. An ls might be faster, but mini me's beat ls all the time, but ls's beat mini me's too. I say mini me. SAVE THE SOHC!!

There are many factors.
If the ls is cheaper ( dont't know why it would be) but if it is, get it.

id go with the ls, but only if you can afford the setup. its a lot better foundation than a d series.
also wondering where all these people are getting ls longblocks for like less than $300

if your looking for more torque, get the ls. the mini-me will be lighter though it all depends on what your funds are like. are you planning to boost, keep stock, or go all motor? i think the ls swap will be around 2k, dont quote me though

If you want some quick, easy gains, go for the mini-me. If your in it for the long haul, go for the LS. Your just a B16A head away from one of the best B/D motors you can get.

Re: (lrcrx90)
ls in my opionion is less work. mounts arent that expensive unless you want hasport. look into hcp mounts and linkage(www.jdmshit.com). all you need to do is wire multi point (2-5 hrs) and bang some dents in the car and your done. ecus are also a lot cheaper for the ls. my first ls swap cost me a total of $575 (250 for a complete 1990 integra, the rest for mounts and linkage) and 2 days from my running a6 to my running ls. then i sold the a6 and tranny, then parted the rest of the integra out and made my money back plus some more. the only single cam motor ive ever lost to was a boosted y8.

B-series motors just plain have more *****. An Ls will be much more fun to drive under 3k also, which is where your going to drive it the most (unless your a crazy *** driver)

Depends on your budget. A LS isn't just going to pop right in now is it? You still have to think about tranny, mounts, shiftlinkage, etc. Sure IF budget was not a problem I would go ahead and drop in an LS or maybe even a GSR. But if you are going to stink with a D I would find a Z6 for cheap and drop that in. Because since it's a D it'll go right in and there is a lot more aftermarket support for the Z6 then the d15b7 IMO.

At the local Pick-And-Pull, there are typically three or four LS longblocks available on any given day. And you can get the compete engine with all accessories (minus ECU) for less than $150. I also recently picked up a perfectly good 1990-1991 LS transmission for a mere $75 (plus $15 core and their exchange policy). You can't go wrong with that. I should also note that SOHC VTEC stuff is not nearly so common and costs the same. After all, prices for a given part do not depend on the car itself. If a GSR was to come in (and yes, I have seen one that was burned out), the engine would still be less than $150.

FTMFW. LS Turbo, if done right is teh best.
Mini-Me is for the quick and easy solution to a slow car. Do it, save the cash, LS, the go turbo when you have the money. Go from there.

Are you sure we are talking about Pick-And-Pull? Here in Sacramento, a standard price is charged for an engine, for instance. It doesn't matter whether the engine is an LS, A6, or GM smallblock.

Re: whats a better swap for a crx a mini me or ls (La-quiete)
i thought all pick and pulls had the same prices... i know here its $150 for the complete longblock with the wiring harness and manifolds... and thats if THEY take it out for you. anyone paying over 500 for a stock longblock is ridiculous (unless its got really low miles). i need to start grabbing every one i find and sell them on here for $300 plus shipping.
