is this posible??????????????????? just brainstorming here, wanna make my ex dohc but cant afford h22 swap, ne ideas if that would work???????????????

its called jdm f22b dohc

cheaper and safer. you can get it around 600-800$

i was lookin at osakajdmmotors.com, and they have a f20b longblock for sale, and i was thinkin if i could get the head and do it like aan ls/vtec?????????

unlikely that you'll be able to get all the wiring done and keep it a daily driver with everything working. my friend tried and gave up doing the wiring and sold the motor.

auto? I'd recommend looking into converting it to manual... before any other conversions.

well if i got a new motor set up i will but if i can head swap then ill just leave it has a almost new trans trans not lookin ofr mad fast , cuase i have a crx wit b18 for track fun, just someting a lil more snappy

I've heard and seen first hand horror stories about the dohc head swaps. The nonvtec one would be the best way to go.

what head would i go wit for non vtec, i have sohc vtec now wouldnt that b weirdo to go to non vtec?

I was thinking you had an f22b2, if you've got an f22b1 I guess it would be easier to use an h22 head. The dohc nonvtec head is the jdm f22b... I just know there is some milling/welding etc required... It would be easier to do the whole swap.

DOHC head swaps have been done but they aren't easy. If you do a little searching on this site you can find a couple people who have done it successfully. Most people give up on it and end up buying a full swap.
