no vtec if you have no knock sensor.you car cannot change valve timing without knowing ignition timing. your ks can change your timing and if its not hooked up vtec wont engage.

vtec will engage while throwing KS code. I don't have one on my ls/vtec and i am throwing code 28 I believe...I still have the good cam.

wtf? u can still pop vtec if u have no knock sensor. vtec wont pop if u dont have the right oil pressure, ur speedo's not working, coolant temp sensor is not working. and also if u have a bad vtec solenoid or wiring to the ecu. als the ecu migh be a problem

What??!!

VTEC WILL WORK WITH NO KNOCK SENSOR...period.

Timing DOES, however, get pulled 2 degrees.

Vtec stills works without the knock sensor. The ecu basicly retards the igniton timing because of the code. So you do lose hp.

I had my knock unplugged for a day or two .. and anything over like 50mph or some high reving .. your going right into limp mode and your not going over like 2500 rpm ..

ok fact, ks will cause v-tec not work if your running obd2. but most guys run obd1 and obd0 so there is no ks present in obd0 & 1

obd1 has KS........

All DOHC VTEC Motors Have knock sensors. Including OBD0, OBD1, OBD2.
