double ignition CRX? theft prevention
If you got a ignition off EBAY and mounted it somewhere else in the car. Could you wire it up so both keys had to be in the correct position to start the car? I'm just imagining a thief's face when he get the stock one to turn and then he sees a place for a second key. Don't flame, I was just throwing around this idea in my head
Well all he would have to do is but the switch off the back of the second ignition
Its easy to do on your currnet ignition. but you also have the steering lock on it the second igniton u install woudnt
Your best bet would be to hide a cut off switch somewhere

Your idea got me thinking of something else. You could put a second ignition in somewhere, anywhere semi-hidden but easily accessible. Then you could hook up your "primary" ignition to short a fuse when turned.
So if a thief breaks in to your car he "hotwires" your stock ignition thinking its going to start the car. But in reality it shorts out the starter or ECU fuse. He's confused and ditches the GTA. You come back, throw in a spare fuse and go home. You might have a fucked up ignition or broken window but at least you got your car!
