K20 into a 88 crx si.... any suggestions?
I just purchased a totaled 04 european si, engine is fine and I am going to put it into my crx. I was wondering what, if any, suggestions you all might have. Wiring?
motor mounts? linkage? axles so on and so forth. Any help would be greatly apprecited. I just got this car about 3 hours ago so just thinking out loud

h and k series are the hardest of the swaps with ALOT of custom fabracation to get them to fit letalone the mounts. besides they are overkill for a CRX IMO.
I feel differently. Buy a K series, everyone should and swap it into thier bicycle for all I care. All that matters is that the B series prices go down. $300 engine/tranny/ecu/shiftlinkage here I come!!!
Buy a K series it's EASY TO DO.
Hasport makes a kit that lets you drop the motor in, with some minor fabrication!!!
Almost no fabrication whatsoever. It's the r0X0rZ motor. K series pwnz 4ll!!!! lmao

I say go for it! What harm can come from it? If you screw up than fix the problems until you get it right. You will never learn anything unless you try it. There is plenty of info and help here on the web to get that motor in your car! Search! Search! Search!

Sure, an experienced enthusiast may be able to do this swap, provided he can weld and fabricate... No offense to the original poster, but it sounds like this swap is quite out of his league.

your a trial user.
so don't worry
when your new everyone thinks they better then you.
Since you have a Civic type R motor.
Hasport has made mounts for this year EF.
You can get the wiring from hasport else.
You would need a honda data ecu.
Axels.
Shifter Cables.
go here: http://www.hasport.com
not all the things are out yets. they are working on on everything its not a complete plug and play some things like welding are required
also go here: clubrsx.com
k20a.org
they have better information on the motors.
good luck.

The guy lives in Phoenix. If he has problems he can simply drive to Hasport and ask for advice which I'm sure they are willing to give out because they want to sell their kits. I still say go for it. If he needs some welding done he find a shop that will weld up some stuff. Come on guys this is an engine swap not rocket science! It may take him a year or so to figure out everything but that's a small price to pay for having a K-series in an ef. I'm sure when people first started swapping in B-series engines people said that it would be too hard! Now look, half of the people on this board have a B-series.

Thanks for all the responses. I am not a newbie to honda swaps but I am new to the K series engines. I have no problem welding or wiring. Does anyone know any good sites other than HAsport? Anyone know where to get axles?
