port and polish is nice, valve springs, retainers, etc. If you're going to do serious work, bore it out to 1.7 liter, 11:5.1 pistons, ITB's are great, have fun. Lots of work and definitely $$$$$$$$$

all of the above + thinner head gasket + maybe 1.8 instead of 1.7
and since you're gonna want to do a lot of dyno tuning to maximize your NA power, you need to have as many adjustable things for your motor. i.e. fuel pressure regulator, adj. cam gears, etc. tuning is everything.

EDIT: oh! + maybe a clutch, flywheel, an aftermarket LSD ( ). And if you have money to burn you can just get the Spoon close-ratio gears.

I have the same car don't dump a ton of money into sleeving and boring and aftermarket pistons. Get yourself a type r block and a good header and you will drop a ton of time on the 1/4. A different trainey will be helpfull to because the trans in the si sucks real shitty final drive.

N/A cars are fun if they are tuned perfectly but you could never EVER EVER have as much fun or power in an N/A car as you would in a turbo. <--period End of story. And this goes double for a torquless b16

dunno, it's listed in the Helms as a 4.266 but people have opened up those trannies to physically look at the final drive and found them to actually be a 4.4 just like the 96-97 ITR tranny. The only improvement over the 4.4 is the S80 tranny in the 98 ITR which was 4.785.

People also need to realize that their car can only handle so much. A civic chassis, for example, needs serious reinforcements to handle 300hp+ so for those that want a turbo to make 500hp! it's useless. All motor 220-240whp is good enough, and if you really want to get crazy, K20 All motor 300hp

The k20 is a better platform for a turbo set up.

Anyone can slap on high comp pistions and bore out a b16 and have more power too. No matter what path you choose, it takes lots of money and building to get a great car. Turbo's have to be tunned just as much as NA cars do.

Oh and it's even better when you smoke some **** blocker in a mustang GT with his GF next to him with a little 4 banner.
