kyb agx w/ H&R race. knocking sound?
So I just put some agx's in the replace the dead stock shocks. Ive mated them with the H&R race springs. The car (89 crx si) rides fairly rough, which I had expected it to be, agx's set to 3 fr. 3 rr.
Now the problem I have is when i am driving over a fairly rough surface, like a very rough road, or a gravel driveway/parking lot, I hear a knocking sound out of the front suspension somewhere. It's loud enough to hear inside the car, and its a constant clunk sound when i go over the rough ground. Normal street driving I dont notice it at all, just really bad pavement or gravel.
Any thoughts on what it could be?
2 more problems, first is when I turn I get a big clunk sound from the front, I think maybe an axle problem, but not sure.
Second issue, after putting the kyb's in, the car sat about 1/2" or so higher. I had the H&R's in with the stock struts before, and it sat like it should. But now the height is a noticeable difference. hmm, im stumped.
PS. The bumpstops are cut in half.

I have the same setup and similar prolbem. 93 civic dx 4 door. My problem came I think maybe from the shock itself though. One day when I tried to adjust the dials, it never popped back up so I tried replacing the dial. Now, there's a clunking sound from that side of the suspension if I brake too hard, or go over speeds bumps or something.
Can you narrow your problem down to one side of the car? Also, your car may be riding a little high because it may take a while for the shocks and springs to settle.
