omnipower coilovers, which lca?
I have a 1990 civic si, all of the suspension is stock. I am planning on purchasing a set of omnipower full coilovers and the omnipower lca's from
http://www.robearracing.com/pd...m.cfm
it says that the coilover are good if you have the box style LCA's, i always thought that only 88 ef's had box style LCA's
Anyways, will i be fine if i get their full coilovers and their lca's?
TIA

The 88 shock is on the left and the 89-91 on the right.
You will be fine with the omni lca and the coilovers

look under the car, if you see a fork at the end of the strut, it is a beam LCA. stock, 1990 has a beam LCA

top is "box end" style. found in 88's only.
bottom is 89-91 style.
btw, you should be aware omnipower coilovers dont really drop the front of CRX/civics very low, almost stock height.

but they say they are adjustable to lower the car up to 4 inches, im looking for about 1 finger to no wheel gap in the front and back.
What causes them to not lower the front, did you hear about this or do you have actual experience with it?

If you get them. I would suggest you have new bolts and bushings just in case. My drivers side rear lca the bushing some how welded its self to the trailing arm.
It was funny though cause the air tool was pulling the trailing arm back with it

as low as it normally goes without removing the "preload".
Thats crap, my car sits 2 inches lower than that in the front with stock suspension.

what about doing it that way, is that bad? will i have bottoming out problems with a 2.5-3.0 inch drop?
What alternatives am i looking at?

I don't understand the "with preload" thing, i thought that the preload was a mandatory process you did when installing the coilovers, not something that determined height.
How low can i go with these without getting rid of alot of front shock travel?

you really dont need to go any lower than EF Two. that will ride good and handle great.
you just need 205/50s and it will fill that gap nicely. 195/50/15s are very small.

From what i have read, you can lower the car further by rotating the shock itself, which in turn shortens shock travel...but what is this "removing preload" deal?
