Question about Spoon/Brembo brakes...
I was just curious.. When most of you guys who have purchased either Spoon or Brembo calipers for your cars, what else have you bought to upgrade your brakes? Have you just bought the calipers?
S.S. Braided Brake Lines, Fluid, and I changed the Rotors when I bought my Spoon Calipers.

are the spoon calipers worth the price? or are you just paying for the name? any test done? such as stock vs. spoon calipers with good street pads. thanks
New calipers or not, you can't go wrong with race pads and fluid. I would also do SS lines if you're not concerned about SOLO II class. With the number of racers who recommend ordinary Brembro blank rotors, I plan to use those once my OEM rotors are shot. Nothing drilled or slotted for me, thanks.

Spoon spend time and $$$ to develop making 4 piston calipers increasing the braking of the Type-R. These calipers are developed to work with the factory ABS and you can also run your stock size pads and rotors.
They are many good brakes out there but most of them won't work with the factory ABS and having hard time to get special pads for those calipers.
I have them and they work good for me on track events so I must say they worth this kind of money.

they are extremely functional, and designed to work with Hondas
albeit they are also expensive, although cheaper now
these calipers were widely used by spoon and other race teams in japanese group N endurance racing (although i should add that japanese group N regulations are modified from FIA Group N which do not permit 4pot calipers)
so yes, these are proven products. some of those races are 24 hour endurance races
