Ideas For 91 Crx SI
Ok so I have a few ideas of what I want to do with my CRX... Currently I have a D16Z6 in it (92-95 civic ex) and I'm planning on doing a swap with a new motor... Options are either a B16A rebuilt, or a B18C rebuilt... Next options are turbos, exhaust and intake manifolds, and intercoolers...If anyone has done either swap or any combination of turbos, manifolds, and intercoolers let me know what you suggest and where i should go to get the best deal...
I never thought I'd say this but try the "search" link. There are hundreds of engine bay pics and set ups. Even better, search for "best EFs", it will bring it up in appearance, just look through about 30 pages of EF's and get a better idea
Someone out there has done all of these different swaps that you are talking about. Ultimately it comes down to whatever you want. Find some people around Columbus and see what they have or call Passen and talk with them. I know that there is a import scene around your area just look at the clean cars and leave the rice for chinese food.
It is all about your goals for the car.
How much power do you want to make?
How much money do you have to spend?
Do you want all top end or some low-midrange grunt too?
Do you still want it as a daily driver?
etc
These factors will ultimately influence your choice for your setup.

if ya got the dough and you want to make more power later on start with the 1.8 the B16 makes great power and is an upgrade non the less, but if you have a 1.8 available go for it. you'll thank yourself later.

Have you thought about boosting the D motor that you have now?
Instead of spending the $2K-$4K for a B16 or B18C swap you should look into how much of a built D mtor that amount of money would give you. Just off the top of my head for $2K-$4K for your D I know you can get a sleeved block, forged pistons, rods, a reworked head, some turbo cams. With a motor built up like that you might be able to see 300 WHP with the properly sized turbo.

I am building a B16 turbo presently... god do I wish it were a B18 though. So in my opinion get a B18 and turbo. But it will cost a good chunk of change. You also have to take in account how much money you actually have to invest in this car and quit all the pipe dreaming. Not eveyone had the funds to make a 500hp B18 like all kinds of people want. Keep it simple and clean and your car will last you a long time. Maybeyou should start out with the D16 turbo you can make relly good power with that set up. Search around and find parts that you like. You want a place to start. TURBO = FULL-RACE Geoff and Todd are...well only a quote from Master Shake will do "They are the siz-night." GOOD LUCK
i've found motors at junk yards for less than $500 (b16's and b18's) and they are the newer motors...anyway the plan is to take a motor from there send it to slowmotion (http://www.slowmotionmotorsports.com) and have them rebuild it...i wouldn't want to boost my stock d16z6 that has more than 100,000 miles on it and has valve tick, and is basically a waste of 125hp... and i'm not worried about the cost
alot of people hate on the b16 not the B. and i wouldnt trust a shop named slowmotion or having the words SLOW in it.
i got a B16 and i'll be boosting with 15psi til my other block is sleeved and **** is thrown into it. i just dont know how i'm gonna get traction. my old y8 turbo crx couldnt grip for **** on 195/60s @ 25psi(TIRES) daily

What i think would be good for you would be to put a b16a rebuilt in it and a turbonetics turbo and run like 12lbs boost with that small of a car that car will be fast and dependable for the long run. I have a 91 crx and i have a b16a crate motor in it with a trubonetics turbo and gutted it took all the uneeded stuff out it and now it only ways about 1750 and it a good fast car

go **** yourself *******. i can talk **** about what i want. but my original quote was just to be funny about it. because of there name and it sounds like a lowrider shop. i dont care if they are or aren't i'm just saying what i want. so you can again F yourself now. have a nice day. dont act childish and call me names and you wont have to worry about me being an *** towards you for the entire time you visit this site.

after viewing that site. looks like a car club rather then a shop.. all i see is stock civic, motor swapped hondas, and 2 massively built hondas with drag/greddy bolt on turbo kits? nothing fanfuckingtastic there.
edit* they also make there own DIY kits with **** log manifolds, like i said nothing special. your better off working on your own car.
and i doubt they did there own internal build up and tuning if that.
you did get me wrong it isnt a lowrider shop
but i give a
x2 for the media section
