painting the accord
ive got a 95 ex 4 dr that i am going to get painted soon (not by maaco) and i was wondering if i should take off the sunroof wind deflector or leave it on the car after it is painted? also i heard that if i change the stock color of the car, the value goes down a ton, is this true?

alryte, before i get bitched at for my answer just lemme say...i dunt kno, im just gon say wut i THINK myte make painting ur car reduce its value......i think its whether or not u get a quality paint job equal to or better then OE and if u paint the whole car (engine bay, door jambs, etc) cuz no one likes a car dats red with retarded green engine bay n door jambs...
It's up to you if you want to take off the wind deflector. If you don't care about the wind in the car with the roof open then take it off. Otherwise keep it on.

yes if u color change ur value goes down, but only at a dealer, and most people don't know the difference, cause after u paint it u tell the dmv and they put the new color in the system, on ur title it has a spot for color, so that gets changed, unless ur planing on trading ur car in at a dealer don't worry about it

I would take off the deflector...since this isn't really a totally functional piece; meaning you can still have a functional sunroof with or without it I say remove it. The big lump that sits just behind the a-pillar looks shitty and doesn't flow well with the lines of the accord.
Remove it, debadge the car and paint the car...make sure the painter gets in the door sills and possibly the engine bay; worst case you can mask off and paint the bay black and most people won't notice.

im not getting it done at maaco, its actually being done by a friend of my step dad who is a really good painter. is there a way to find a color kinda like how you paint a house with like color samples because i know the color i want but all the colors i see are too light or too dark. im lookin for a metallic grey that is a little lighter than evo 8 grey, and maybe with some blue metallic flake or some metallic flake color
Just go to an auto paint dealer, they have tons of sample colors for you to take. Make sure you check the color in the sun, on a cloudy day and inside to make sure you like it. I did a truck once in blue, out in the sun, it was a deep purple
