Which ecu are you using? The gearing may be different for an automatic tranny. Idk, though. Bump for you.

The reason why its lagging is because you have a b16. Really. they are slow unless turbo

lol, same cams, make sure you're using a manual ecu... if you're comparing it to a gsr or type r though... it just doesn't kick in that hard. If you want it to, get some cams and tune your car. I have skunk2 stage 2's that'll kick as hard as anything else; if you're interested, PM me.

where is your proof here? and why do you say "of course"...

with the additional drivetrain loss through an automatic transmission would not it be possible for the automatic cam to be slightly more aggressive to make up for it?

i'm not saying this is the case, just that your post is as educated as me saying my farts and your farts are different, your farts of course being weaker. but i can't prove that to you without letting one rip in your face...

don't auto B16 use single valve springs on the intake and exhuast side, while manual B16s have dual springs on the intake side and single on the exhuast, this might indicate a more aggressive intake cam, but I don't for sure

well b16a's are torqueless wonders, stock. As you say it doesn't pull untill vtec kicks in. It would make a difference if you had a 1st gen vs a 2nd gen. If you have the 1st gen then at least switch to a 2 nd gen b16a cam or itr/ctr cams. That would at least wake up the engine alittle more. My b16a make 162 hp and 109 tq. 109 tq now thats gutless.

and that peak tq number doesn't apply until near 7krpms; i'd hate to see the 3-4krpm tq numbers.

having auto gearing on there would make it that much worse for him

I know for a fact that manual B16 cams are more aggresive than automatic B16 cams....I have held both side by side and it is clearly visible.
