Default Help diagnose smoking and ticking issue...

Hey guys, I recently had new valve seals insalled for the second time on my LS head and it still keeps smoking when I stay on a low gear during a downhill or downshift abruptly (high vacuum) and then resume acelerating.

I also hear a metalic ticking noise coming from the exhaust side of the head.

Could this be a bent valve or a damaged valve guide or what??

TIA

Have you perormed a leakdown test? The metalic ticking is most likely detonation.

I should have said, I only hear the noise when in idle and im pretty sure its not detonation cause my plugs are perfectly brown and my distributor is set at the middle position (I have to buy a timing light), also my tbelt is in perfect shape and alignment

Adjust those valves then
