SRS light stays on, odometer and clock backlight problem
If anyone can help me out. I've got a friend with a 2001 Honda Accord Coupe with around 110,000 km on it. The SRS light came after one snow storm where they were doing some hand brake slides and now it won't go off. Also, the odometer and the clock backlight doesn't come on. Checked the fuses and even replaced them still with no solutions.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

as far as the srs light. it is probably time for it to come on. if i am not mistaking the srs needs to be inspected like every 10 yrs or somewhere from 80-100k. i have a 91 accord ex and mine came on around 85-90k, i am at 108k now. i ignore it really. i see alot of honda accords that pull up next to me at night time ignore theirs too. i have done so with my last car as well. i got into a front collison and my air bag still deployed. unless you are really bothered by the light being on ignore it.
odo light, clock back light, check the actual bulb,i just replaced mine(3 years life
), the odo uses 194size blub i think(you need to take out the cluster to access the blub) the clock bulb you have to get it from honda, it's less than three dollar.
as far as SRS, it wouldn't just go off random or by mileage, it could be crap loads of stuff that could trigger it off. e.g. pulling the connect under the seat, removing the seat, bucket, etc.
you could reset the SRS yourself(search under my name) and see if it will coming back or not. it's 5 min of works and honda charge 70 bucks for it, it only take one paper clip and that's it
also, on my buddy's 00' av6 ex, he took the car to the dealer for the same problem, it turns out he got a faulty seatbelt buckle and he got it replaced for free. Check for the recall first

Thanks for the help.
I had a feeling that the backlights wouldn't be too hard of a fix.
As far as the SRS light goes, I'll give the paper clip reset a try and hopefully it work. If not, on it stays because $70 is a little too much for something like that.
Now all thats left is to get my friend to trust me to take apart the car!
Appreciate it.
