GSR Swap with LSD, with the left over money replace the clutch and do all the maintenance stuff. Then boost it when you get money again.

depends which k20, but most will run more than a b18c5.
If it were me, I'd just swap from auto to 5 speed, then I'd do a LS swap. Then I'd boost the **** out of it

Yes, you need to do the auto to manual swap after you get a new motor... So you'd be doing it with the new motor's tranny, shift linkage, tranny mounts, etc.

Wrong, autos get worse gas milage then manuals. Believe me I know.
But he's got the right idea. Keep the car an auto cause they pull more money when they are sold then manuals do.
But a beater and build that. Find something with a blown engine/tranny then part out the good stuff and use that money and whatever is left from the $5,000 to build it.

what i mean is the auto will get more gas mileage than a built beater. my car is stock block built head and im lucky to get 20mpg. i would hope a stock civic will get better gas mileage than that

lol... the guy is trying to have a faster car, why would you compare a stock auto to a built manual? -.-
Also, for the other guy, the car is worth more because it has an auto tranny not because it came with one stock. Once you swap it into a manual it's not worth the "auto" price increase you're speaking of.

If you want to save the hassle and keep the car, get a complete GSR changeover. Don't turbo your current motor and tranny, it'll be just as slow.

Im not worried about selling the car because its got 68k miles on it now and if imma swap it i dont plan on selling it again... this car has to keep me til end of college (atleast)

i think imma swap to a complete GSR or a cheap B16 (rebuilt) series engine
