Default Going Through Coolant Way Too Often......

alright, i was wondering what can cause a motor to use up Coolant to often? I have a 99 jdm itr swap, it has around 18k miles and dosnt burn any oil between oil changes, however it seems im filling up the coolant resevoir once a week and every time i go to add more at the 7 day interval its completely empty or below the min line, as stated my car runs like a champ, dosnt burn any oil, no coolant or anything like that in my oil or visa-versa, my fan kicks on and my heat needle never goes above 1/2 way

heres some info to keep in mind

im usuing a Single Core del sol Radiator w/stock del sol resovoir, and fan

im not just gonna hop on the bandwagon and replace the radiator unless thats for sure the problem because if i do replace it "its brand new" im gonna wanna get an aftermarket racing spec radiator and slim fan set-up which isnt really cheap. But im hoping its not because this radiator is only 2-3 months old.

thanks for the help guys

if no visible leaks. or white smoke. then coolant pressure test will help find leaks

As said, I would get a radiator specialist to run a preasure test on the system just to make sure there is no visable leaks from the plastic tank, hoses etc If that comes up fine maybe a TK test?

you can probally rent a cooling system pressure tester from autozone. attatch it to where your radiator cap goes and pressurized it to 15psi, wait 5min and if the pressure droped you have a leak. If it didnt drop then it's probally a HG becasue they are weird like that. Meh my .02

thank-you, ill call autozone tomarrow and see if they have it, its probably just a leak, i see no reason why my headgasket would leak and it dosnt have the symptoms of a bad head gasket

Have you checked the passenger side floor for dampness?

Just a thought... Heater Core bad and leaking.

checked everything today, cracked hose and im also usuing a single core raditor which has a smaller diameter outket/inlet then the block so there is probably some pressurized spray when pressure builds up sense the motor/radiator have diff inlet/outlet sizes but im usuing hoses to match the motor

Glad you found the problem and that it wasn't more serious or difficult to fix.
