About to do some maintence
I have a 91' GS with the stock B18A in it and it has about 180K on her that Ive only had for about six months. Well I dont know much about the history of this engine but it seems to run pretty good and havent had to do any maintence on it until now. I'm going to be fixing the cam seal on it this week since its leaking pretty bad. I was also going to put on a new valve cover gasket set and do a valve adjustment since my motor is pretty noisy right now. While the valve cover is off what other things should I do?? Not knowing the maintence history of the engine how can I tell if I need to replace my spark plugs, spark plug wires, and the dist. cap + rotor?? Anything else I should think about checking/replacing. Money is on a tight budget so I dont wanna spend more than I have too.
when in doubt, replace it anyway. since you've never changed them and you have no idea when they were last changed, might as well change them anyway. they're most likely overdue. then you have your own point of reference, anyway.
pretty much everything you mentioned, plus the fuel filter, air filter, pcv valve, check/replace all fluids as needed, check/replace all belts as needed. if your timing belt isn't brand new, plan on doing that soon as well.
and if you're going to be doing the timing belt, you should do the water pump and maybe the tensioner as well.
sorry to load all that onto you. i know you said tight budget, but better safe than sorry.

for checking condition of plugs, wires, rotor and cap simply look at them. as for wires, grab an ohmmeter and check resistance then compare to factory spec. you can rough up the contacts on the cap and rotor with some light sanding or emery cloth.
KEEP UP ON OIL CHANGES AND IF YOU NOTICE A LEAK CHECK OIL OFTEN
i'd also recommend changing the tranny oil (assuming its a manual) oil and MTF both break down. so change it, it probably hasn't been done in a good while and it might not even have proper level in it. i know in my 93 DA's owner manual it recommends 10w30 motor oil in the tranny (NOT MTF!!!) i'm sure MTF would be great to go in, but i guess DA's were made before MTF was used. plus 10w30 is cheaper. as for motor oil, the LS takes 10w30. i recommend castrol gtx and honda filters.
if you can find enough money for it get a fuel filter, a bad fuel filter can cause the fuel pump to go. more than likely your fuel filter has never been changed.
next check the air filter.
last but not least, do a visual inspection. anything that you see is out of shape or about to go, make a note of it on a "need to do" list

See this is my my problem though. I'm going to be swapping in a lower mileage B18B when I can afford it so I wanna keep the maintence down to a minimum on my stock engine. I basically just need it to last me another year or so. So bigger things like timing belts and water pumps that I cant do myself I will just cross my fingers and hope they dont go out.
And when I mean money is a issue its the truth. I only got about 100$ to spend right now. I guess I should of asked what should I do with the little amount of money I have.
