Intake Manifold Bracket?
Is the bracket which appears to be holding up the back side of the intake manifold really nessesary?? Its the one underneath which does'nt look to have any other purpose besides support. If the exhaust can be supported by just the flange than you would think that the intake manifold could as well.
i always take mine off.. i hate them, they get in the way during an oil change. i wouldn't recommend lifting the motor up by the intake mani or exhaust mani anyways, but especially after you take the bracket off. other than that, i run no bracket, i dont even think aftermarket manifolds have holes drilled to mount to the bracket. my skunk2 for my LS didn't.
What engine?
When I installed my BLOX IM on my GSR it was significantly lighter than the stock one. The stock GSR IM is pretty damn heavy with all the extra butterflies and ports in it. I would leave the bracket if you have a GSR IM, it doesn't really get in the way, plus it holds the heater hose hard lines.

I have the power plus Typhoon intake manifold and it is'nt very heavy (not heavy enough to require an extra bracket anyway) so I think I will leave it off. The bolts are hard to get into place.
