seat belts
so i know safety is a big issue. thats not the point here really. what i am wantin to know is what kind of harness is best fitted for a street car? im getting some aftermarket seats (unsure of which ones), and i dont know which harness belt is the safest. do i have to get a harness bar? will it mount to the floor somewhere? help me out. i want to keep this car safe as possible
*oh and there are rear seats installed, but i never have anyone ride back there*

Don't get harnesses unless you also plan on getting a roll cage. If you roll over and your roof collapses, your harnesses will keep you in an upright position, and won't allow you to 'submarine' under your factory belts to avoid injury. Just a thought.
You probably don't need a full cage - just something to keep the roof from completely crumpling during a rollover. A roll cage can be problematic too, because if you don't have a helmet your bare head can smash into the cage in an accident. Of course, if you have harnesses+cage, you will probably fare a little bet better, but anything is possible.
this is all true. how much does harness pads .... or um ... rollbar padding help? is it just one of those things that wouldnt hurt to have?
something as simple as this one ..... ?

that is from ... http://www.safedrives.com/prod...at=72
the street-sport with harness bar is $444.90. i would pay $450 for safety

Padding will certainly help to prevent massive head injuries, just as long as your harnesses are keeping you in position and your roll bar is holding up, you should be able to escape with bumps and bruises.
Autopower makes some good stuff, I wouldn't base it entirely on on-line info though, I like to check things out first hand, look at the connections, etc. But I think you're going the right route, skimping on roll cages and harnesses is a bad idea.

i was more/less using that picture as reference. i couldnt find much else. there is a place near me that makes some awesome ****. and they make it to however you want it. you can take a basic setup such as the one pictured and modify it. or just a full custom cage. point being i want to get a basic one with the best protection possible.

I would use the stock seat belts if this is a street car. Harnesses will be a pain getting in and out of the car. Plus you can't even turn around to check your blind spots when your harnessed in or even reach the heater controls or radio. A harness isn't going to be any safer than stock seat belts in a street car.

take it from me, I daily drive a 6pt cage, with a 5 point Sparco harness
it is dreadfull ( watching too much Top Gear)
its takes forever to buckle in, too many bars around my body
its clumsy to get in and out of the car
i can't turn my body to look back, or to reverse
street car = stock belts
if u just want move around less, get a different seat

yeah, I thought so too, but, it's the honest to goodness stuff, plus, they got seat rails. Also, I just put the CG lock on my car (well, seatbelt) and it is awsome. Holds me in really snug when I want it too, otherwise, my belt functions just fine when I don't engage it. I was a little worried at first, but, worked out well. It's a little difficult to get the hang of getting it down just right, but, after a few times, it's nothing. I love it. All I gotta do is save a bit of money for a new seat, and I'm good to go.

this is true.
i am kind of partial to Corbeau seats. ive had several different models. and right now i am leaning towards the CR1 or the A4 for my integra. i have a race seat in the basement (damn near brand new) and i just got tired of not being able to recline or move it much to get items in and out of the back seat. so im opting to make this car as "streetable" as possible.
*side note* nobody does or will ride in the back, so a small cage or harness bar is not an issue. but i am liking the idea of that CG lock or whatever it was called used in conjuntion with my aftermarket seats and regular seatbelts.
