I got a question about my tranny
When I try shift into first I sometimes have a hard time getting it to lock into first . I am not syaing tha tit doing go into first but it take a hard time going into first. What is the problem
If I understand what you are saying correctly it may be your synchro. I have the same problem, just push the clutch in twice or rev it a tiny bit and it should go in.
Does anyone here have any syncros that they want to sell? I know " search" but it doesnt hurt to ask. I am looking for oem honda syncros for a 97 ls
get them from standard-transmission.com if you want a full rebuild kit for $175 or get just synchros from gear-speed for like $110 or something. the full kit comes with all bearings and seals you need also. very nice people, quick shipping and didn't cost much. i currently have their kit for my Y80 in my room awaiting my LSD choice. also it helps i have a nice set of micrometers&telescoping gages, depth gages, and some other machine shop knick-knacks to insure everything goes as planned and lasts like OEM.

oh, sorry. no dash in there. click here. yup, $175 plus shipping. around $200.
can't understand $700 for the kit. sure you didn't ask for them to rebuilt it, too? i have another site that sells these things, but they're a little more expensive, like $350 or so w/ synchros. PM me and i'll try to find it.
letm e also throw in this qustion for everybody. Should i use my 97 ls tranny " which i currently have" for my lsvtec setup? I have a few grinds ( less than 10) in the 3 years i have had it.
should i rebuild my tranny with new syncros or get A GSR, OR SI tranny
WHAT IS THE MOST FESIABLE WAY?

like everything else, it all boils down to this: speed costs money. how much do you want to spend? you can run a $10,000 built motor with a tranny that pops out of 4th gear. it'll run, but it won't be as fast as it could be. maybe you had the dough for the motor, but haven't made a tranny yet. then, in a few months, you drop another few large and build a super tranny. you can use whatever tranny you want on whatever motor you want, but if you have the money, a shorter tranny is almost always faster, especially with VTEC's short, high powerband.
yeah exactly what i was thinking. I am also looking at the down time too. by building my tranny it would ocst me alot of time. What I want to do is to have the bets bang for the buck. The gsr tranny costs about the same as the b16 but you can find them more often than a b16 around here ( new york).
so go with the geeser, but really, building the tranny is only a few hours + a trip to honda to get the right shims for yer ****
. plus, if you build the tranny, you can swap around your favorite gears. play with a calculator for a while and find which ones you want, then build your dream gearbox.
