Default My newest project (PLEASE REVIEW!!)

Ok guys,

My new project is as follows:

I want to drop my car, but can't under the tires I'm on now. I'm driving a 1994 Accord LX. I have a black widow body kit, and 18inch rims. I live in boston, so there is absolutly no way I can drop my car as is. Now what I was thinking was, getting bigger tires. Perhaps the biggest size tire I could fit on my car. My friend was suggesting a 50 or 60 series. Tire thickness = Good ****. I want to be able to drive and not fear potholes, as my tires right now are low profile, and are a sucker for a pothole. Now with bigger tires on my 18s, my car would be elevated, and the wheel well would still be large, which is right now. Now, my project's main purpose is to make the wheel well disappear. Now with bigger tires, my car is elevated, and thus will probably look silly. From there I drop my car, a few inches. My friend was suggesting 1.5inches on all ends. Thus I go back to the same distance my car was from the ground, and the wheel well would significantly decrease. Please tell me what you think!!

Pictures of my car: http://www.cardomain.com/id/wfpod (stock tires) (still crazy wheel well gap)

I really need input on this.

Thanks.

well you'll have a nice front wheel drive snow plow . if you have a body kit, your car should be lowered, thats all there is to it, otherwise it looks nowhere near as good. if you put that size rim and tire on your car you can cause break failure, and the tires may rub. i live in central new york, and our snow isn't much worse, if your car has a body kit, you need to have a winter beater, and not drive the accord in the winter, thats all.
good luck.

You know, you COULD get your car lowered on 18s if you got rid of the ugly *** body kit, fake dual fartcan exhaust, and the lame Brian Spilner neons...but I mean, if you want to look like a pickup truck done by West Coast Customs, be my guest....

Well, I'm keeping the kit. Everyone is entitled to do what they please with what they own.
It's not fake duel exhaust, and its not a fartcan, I hate those.
Brian Spilner neons??? Not sure about that one.

and I'm not trying to make it look like a west coast customs car, heh, but I just want to figure out something that'll add more protection to my rims, as well as decrease the wheel well gap.

To save your wheels and decrease wheel gap get 17" wheels.

They wont dent in potholes as easy, better for handling, and arent as heavy a rotating mass, so better mileage. And you can lower them more too.

My thing about fake dual is why did you put a dual exhaust on a 4 cyl car? All it does is weigh the car down more...

Most dual exhausts (only a few have true dual exhausts) are upside down Ys. A large downpipe and midpipe splits off into two smaller pipes that go to two seperate mufflers.

A real dual exhaust has one pipe from one set of three or four cylinders and a seperate pipe for the other three or four cylinders.

Basically what i'm getting at is unless you have a 6 or 8 cylinder engine crammed in that 4 cyl Accord, you dont have a true dual exhaust, and youre just adding more weight to the car, effectively making it slower.

with those neons and that body kit, I don't think he minds making a slow car any slower. hahaha

Damn you fockers just lay off the guy. Once a few people have said the same thing that means it is time to stop the flaming.

As for the origional poster. If you are not wanting to raise the car any higher then I would stay away from 18" inch wheels especially with bigger than normal tires. that would raise the car alot and it would most likely look stupid. Just get some 17's with some 45 series tires and watchout for really bad pot holes.
