Default ??? for all DA owners!

Okay, you know how seatbelts retract on driver side and passenger side door when entering and exiting the vehicle. Are those components covered under the warranty? I went to a Acura dealership and the service manager was a jerk and said they weren't. But then I read the owner's manual warranty and it said it covers "all parts and labor for all seat belt components, AT IT'S OPTION" What does that mean?

Let me know if anyone has gone through this. I mean DA's are more than 10 years old, those seat belt modules/motors have to wear out from normal use. It should be covered right?

Thanks for everyone who responds. I appreciate it.

if it says "at it's option" i believe that means the dealer can say no if they feel the fix is unneccessary. i'd simply go try another dealer. you could also try asking for the service manager, if he doesn't see it your way, ask for his supervisor. keep going up the chain. show them your owners manual and have them explain everything to you. just remember to be polite.

i believe their option is either to fix or to replace. they have to do either one or the other, but it's their call which. most likely, they'll just replace it.

I got turned away because the previous owner "tampered" with it.

I went to 2 dealerships and both told me the same thing. It's like $500-$700 for each piece. I think I'll just do without the luxury of my retractors working. Thanks for everyone's replies! Peace

Mine got stuck on me and I took it in and they said no at first. But then I talked to the manager and they went ahead and fixed it no problem. I would suggest going to another dealership.
