Default B16B2 - Will it fit, what do I need, etc.

Hi, I don't know much about anything when it comes to cars. I was fooling around on eBay and bid on a mint B16B2. Unfortunately, some other lucky git won the auction.. He backed out tho' and I'm now being offered this beaut'..

Anyways, what will I need to fit this in my '91 CRX ED9 (yeah, I'm european, think our ED9's the same as your DX, correct me if I'm wrong). It comes with the following: "engine, LSD transmission, ECU, complete uncut wiring harness, motor mounts, distributor, alternator, A/C, SPORTS exhaust manifold, and Carb and intake manifold."

I'm sorry if this is something every nubjar brings up on the site, I just need a few fast answers before I tell him to ship it my way. Thanks in advance!

ED9's aren't the same as DX's - The yanks didn't get DOHC engines in the CRX

You'll need cable to hydro conversion mounts from Hasport, and a good knowledge of where to find the search button for the rest

Ah, right-o. I was thinkin' chassis-wise, regardin' the DX issue, but thanks for the info.

And yeah, was 'fraid I'd get ye olde "Use tharr searchie function". Guess I'll hafta look into it tomorrow, then. Thanks anyways.

you have a very hot motor on your hands. Please take more pics of the process of dropping it into your ED9.

I am wondering, since you are buying it off of ebay if the seller is a scammer. Someone else backed out and now he offering it to you. He might be trying to make twice the money and not intending to ship to either of you. Beware

That looks like the pics from the company that claims to ship directly from japan. Shipping seemed expensive, but i don't know what country you are in. Also, didnt' know there was such a thing as a B16b2, thought they were all just B16b, but I guess you never know.

Nice motor though..........can't wait til I can get mine.

yup, I was gonna say the same thing. Ebay may usually offer a good deal but those good deals are sometimes too good to be true.

Stick with proven distributors of motors such as Hmotorsonline, Import Auto Salvage, HapRecycling etc....

As far as installing the motor, you will need mounts, axles , linkage, convert to multi-point injection. you can also upgrade to obd1 and use a p28 to run that motor. i may be leaving some things out but you can search and find more info.

Please show us said auction. Post a link.

And I found it.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...33615

He seems to be a reputable seller. Near perfect feedback! I think you have no worries. 2 Negatives out of 285 feedback. Yeah, nothing to worry about there. Great find! One of a kind!

The auction is over so I am not advertising it here. Not that it's mine anyways.

just be careful either way dude, thats a big ticket item and the seller is located in japan... so its not like you could take a trip and pick the motor up if you decided.

good luck

Not really pimp. I already asked this same question some time ago only to find out that JASMA is basically the JDM equivelant of our CARB. So if you think that having a CARB certified header is pimp then I guess its pimp

Yeah, as all things that are too good to be true, it was a god damn scam. Hate those unlaid teenies/dirty cubans. 'n I'd already gone 'n smashed me piggy-bank :/ Luckily, I got ahold of the real seller 'n he's gonna try 'n find another engine for me.
But damnit, that one was sex painted red and with a Honda logo on top.

And everything I've ever gotten from them was always over packaged and would take me for fawking ever to open and looked like someone spent 4-6 hours cleaning the damn thing so I really dont know what to tell you beside you shouldn't call a company a scammer unless you can back it up

Ah, I might've been a bit unclear. Japanautos are not scammers. It was some other bastard mexican who tried to pass himself off as being Japanautos. But if you re-read my message, you might notice I mentioned I was still buying an engine from "the real dealer" (ie. Japanautos if you're stil a wee bit slow, eh). So uh, why the hell would I call a company I'm dealing with scammers? Anthony is in fact a real friendly fella', and I'd recommend him any day.

Use common sense next time, it ain't illegal in Europe, it shouldn't be in the US, either.
