1991 Acura Integra Misfire
I just put on 4-2-1 headers the other day and it seems that I get a misfire now.I try to tighen the igniter plugs inside the distributor. Got brand new spark plugs. When I had stock headers it was fine I didnt notice or feel the power loss. It seems at Idle I can feel the cars rpms drop below 700 and when I get on it from like 4500 to redline it kind feels like the cars power decreases as if it reached its peak HP. Could this be also cause by an exhaust leak or something with just strictly ignition?
try adjusting the valves. the ls heads are soft and when they have some miles on them the valves tend to tighten up and cause a lean misfire. or you could have a slow o2 sensor, if you changed the mounting location of o2 you might have problems also.
I'm gonna second that O2 sensor guess. When I had my 91 Teg the O2 sensor went bad shortly after I put the header on. I think it had to do with moisture. It seemed to really act up when it would rain/snow. The car didn't want to idle, ran like ****, and sometimes the check engine light would even come on. Gas mileage went down as well. If you had to relocate the sensor I would buy a new one and try to protect the sensor's connection to the harness. I did that and didn't have any other problems. hth
I got another question... I was wondering about any speed limiter or anything... I had a 88 civic hatch that was stock that would get up to 110 mph a lot faster then this car could make it to 100mph. It seems like from 85mph and up the car is extremely sluggish and I really was never able to get it past 100mph. as soon as 4th tops out at 100mph I put it in 5th and go no where. any help?
